It’s officially time for the outdoor festivities to begin. This week is jam packed with garden parties, court-yard dance offs, and a yacht party, let’s just hope it doesn’t rain.
June 8th
Party: Cooper Hewitt Annual Garden Party
It’s not spring unless you go to at least one garden party! The Cooper Hewitt Museum will be celebrating its fortieth anniversary of its home in the Carnegie Mansion with its annual garden party on its front lawn. Guests are encouraged to dress in attire inspired by the seven themes of the museums current exhibit Beauty Design Triennial. There will also be treated to cocktails and fare.

Party: BOFFO Narcissists Ball
If you are looking to get out on the water for some fresh air, BOFFO will be hosting its annual spring benefit, the Narcissists Ball, on a yacht in the New York Harbor. The Ball will include dinner, music, and cocktails as well a silent auction to benefit the non-profit organization.

Party: Chashama Gala 2016
If you are looking for something a little more alternative than your traditional gala, Chashama has got you covered. Guests at the gala will be encouraged to wonder around the venue and experience the work of the artists that Chashama support. The event will also feature dinner and all proceeds will go to Chashama’s goal of supporting local artists in the area.
Don’t forget, if you can’t quite swing the gala price, the after party starts at 9:30.

Opening: A Portrait of Marina Abramovic by Matthew Placek
The Second Ward will be hosting Matthew Placek’s 3D moving portrait 130919 of Marina Abramovic. The intricate piece portrait will be available for view in groups of 4 in 15 minute intervals in-which the viewers will be able to fully immerses themselves in the various levels of the portrait. The site-specific show will be available to view for only 3 weeks, so don’t forget to book your appointment now.

June 11th
Party: The Glass House Summer Party 2016
If you are trying to get out of the humid city this week, make your way to the Glass House’s annual Summer Party. It’s the perfect event for those who are looking to kick back and relax, with 49 acre grounds, the Glass House will be hosting a picnic, an auction, and artistic performances.

Party: Warm Up 2016 at MoMA PS1: Opening Night

We know it’s hard to believe, but its time to kick off MoMA PS1’s Warm Up once again. It will be the first in a series of Saturdays nights that PS1 will be hosting their outdoor music series. The evenings will feature tons of established and new musical artist’s from around the world. Opening night will feature, DJ Premier, Butterz, Discowoman, and numerous others.
