Today in the Meatpacking District, artists Carl Keita and Oluwatosin Adesanya unveiled a new mural for Juneteenth today. Both artists are affiliated with the New York Academy of Art.

The work was commissioned by Alina Lundry, owner of Highline Stages, and a board member and longtime supporter of the New York Academy of Art.

Carl is a draughtsman from Cote d’Ivoire and just completed his first year of the graduate MFA program at the Academy. Oluwatosin (Tosin) is a Nigerian-American painter and recent graduate of the Academy as of June 2020. She was a recipient of the Mickalene Thomas Scholarship while there.
