Event: “Modern Mondays – An Evening with Laida Lertxundi” at MoMa
Artist and filmmaker Laida Lertxundi presents the New York premiere of her film 025 Sunset Red (2016), along with a survey of earlier films. Working in 16mm film, Lertxundi combines filmic records of people and places with a strong emphasis on sound and pop music, resulting in languid passages of cinematic language, bodily desire, and existential awareness.

Event: The Wassaic Project’s Winter Benefit Gala

Opening: “Signals at Sunset” by L.C. Armstrong at Marlborough New York
An exhibition of new work by L.C. Armstrong, will open on February 8th with a reception from 6 – 8 pm. The exhibition will continue through March 4th. Comprised of twelve paintings and two works in neon Signals at Sunset continues Armstrong’s explorations of the surreal and the hyperreal.

February 9th
Opening: “Recent Painting and Sculpture” by Michael Scott at Sandra Gering
For this exhibition, Michael Scott pairs new free standing sculpture with paintings, both of which continue to explore the conceptual aspect of optics the artist has worked with since the mid-1980s. Reception starts at 6 pm on February 9th. The exhibition is on view until April 2017.

February 10th
Opening: “WORK” by E.S.P. TV at Pioneer Works
Pioneer Works is pleased to present WORK, E.S.P. TV’s first institutional solo exhibition in the United States. Directed by Victoria Keddie and Scott Kiernan, E.S.P. TV is best known for their live television tapings that feature experimental broadcast collaborations with underground poets, musicians, and artists via their mobile television studio.

Opening: “Sky Leaks” by Scott McFarland at Fort Gansevoort
Fort Gansevoort is pleased to announce an exhibition of recent work by Scott McFarland, which will occupy Fort Gansevoort’s three-floor exhibition space from February 11 – March 11, 2017. The exhibition includes McFarland’s Sky Leaks; eleven photographs of clouds displayed in LED light boxes, and the durational photo/video installation Shattered Glass, a view of a winter landscape through a broken window.

Event: Essex Street Market Presents – Winter DayLife at Lowline Lab
