Film: First Monday in May

In lieu of the opening of Manus x Machina Fashion in the Age of Technology at the Met Museum, and the subsequent Met Ball, the documentary The First Monday in May will be in theaters this week. If you can’t wait to see what Anna Wintor and clan have in store for this year, this documentary may help you satisfy your excitement until May.

The raffle will benefit the Sculpture Center and its programming, and will feature art by both established and emerging artists.

Brooklyn Artists Ball

Party: UP ⇡⇡ NYC Underground Performance NYC

If you looking for a fun night out, this new art festival has got you covered. Held at The Paper Box in Brooklyn the party will feature numerous live performance art pieces, as well as experimental music and art that focuses on dystopian aspects of the counter-culture movement.

UP ⇡⇡ NYC Underground Performance NYC will take place at The Paper Box 17 Meadow st, in East Williamsburg from 7pm -2am.

 

April 22nd

Opening: Mike Perry at Garis and Hahn; Intoxicating Pollen Wiggling in a Moist Journey of Constant Blooming Tides

The relatively new Lower East Side gallery has scored big with their new artist, Mike Perry. Perry, whose brightly colored paintings and illustrations can be seen all over from book covers and magazines, to graphics in the show Broad City has produced some new large scale pieces. Though Perry’s work with Garis and Hahn show his evolution as an artist, you can still expect to see the bring colors and exciting imagery we have come to expect from Perry.

Event: Queens International Night Market Opening Night

The Queens International Night Market is back for another season! The open air market which features vendors selling food, merch, and art will take place every Saturday night all spring and summer long. It’s a great place to see small scale live performances as well as pick up some new art for your home.
