On December 2nd, the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and VisionaireWORLD celebrated the opening of Theater of Self, a SCAD-curated exhibition featuring ensembles styled by Daniel Lismore, photography by SCAD graduate student Bin Feng, and an exclusive film created by VisionaireFILM featuring Lismore, directed by Alice Rosativ. The film debuted with a private screening at SCAD AT MIAMI followed by a dinner hosted by Paula Wallace (SCAD President and Founder), Cecilia Dean and James Kaliardos (Visionaire Co-Founders), honoring Daniel Lismore.
Lismore, who was named “London’s Most Outrageous Dresser” by Vogue for his outré style and wildly imaginative wardrobe, transforms everyday objects into living art. For the film, he was documented by VisionaireFILM, a branch of VisionaireWORLD, as he dressed for the day, layering on charity-shop finds, vintage custom fabrics, discarded theatrical props and more — to express his unique sartorial vision.
The Theater of Self exhibition features more than 20 of Lismore’s most avant-garde, theatrically designed creations fashioned from his collection of couture and ephemera. Life-size sculptural ensembles, each worn by Lismore at one time, are reflections of his own multidimensional identity and are a tapestry of his journey to his true self.
Guests included Rose McGowan, June Ambrose, Shaun Ross, Chelsea Leyland, Lorenzo Martone and Bronson van Wyck.
