PULSE Miami Beach will return to its oceanfront home at Indian Beach Park from Thursday, December 7 through Sunday, December 10, 2017 with its signature Private Preview Brunch opening the fair on Thursday, December 7 from 10am-1pm. The thirteenth edition of PULSE in Miami marks the debut of Director Katelijne De Backer. The roster includes over 70 galleries from 5 continents, including exhibitors from Denmark, Germany, Israel, Japan, Peru and South Africa, among others.
PULSE’s North Tent will highlight established galleries presenting multi-artist booths, while the South Tent presents SOLO exhibitions, whose artists are eligible for the PULSE PRIZE, as well as CONVERSATIONS, dual-artist shows encouraging galleries to explore conceptual dialogues between artists they represent. This year’s PROJECTS Special Commission is by Hector Arce-Espasas, whose sculptural installation Ode to Paradise (Dancers) presents a series of his iconic ceramics positioned throughout a new site-specific environment.
“I am excited to continue to grow PULSE’s rich legacy as a presenter of a vibrant and noteworthy program of international art. I will continue to push to create opportunities for the public to experience a deeper engagement with artwork and in particular look forward to seeing how our visitors will interact with the political and social messages championed by many of this year’s PROJECT artists,” says Director, Katelijne De Backer.
