The Guggenheim’s Young Collectors Council packed the house on November 16 when nearly 600 guests attended the 2016 Guggenheim International Gala Pre-Party. The event, made possible by Dior, featured a special performance by American singer and songwriter BANKS, as well as DJ sets by Nancy Whang of LCD Soundsystem and The Juan Maclean.
Guests included event co-chairs Ahmar M. and Noreen K. Ahmad, Alexandra Economou, Josh Elkes, Anne Huntington, Jade Ong, Victoria Stockman, and Jennifer Ty.
We also couldn’t help notice the amazing fashion ensembles throughout the evening. Check out our five favorite outfits below.
The following evening, the museum celebrated the 2016 Guggenheim International Gala honoring collection artists Agnes Martin (in memoriam), Tauba Auerbach, Tacita Dean, Leslie Hewitt, Sarah Morris, Laurie Simmons, and Taryn Simon.
The best part? The evening raised more than $2 million in support of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation. These funds will advance a range of internationally acclaimed exhibitions and educational programs and provide stewardship for the Guggenheim’s collection of modern and contemporary art and landmark building. Win, win.
