Last Thursday evening, Chashama, a nonprofit that supports New York City artists by reinventing empty real estate property into creative spaces, welcomed nearly 1,000 guests at its annual Chashama Gala and “Art is Everywhere” After Party. True to its word, art was definitely everywhere at the Chashama Gala, held on the 22nd floor of 4 Times Square, formerly known as the Condé Nast Building. With interactive installations and performances by over 150 artists, the night was jam-packed with art. Experience the gala for yourself through these photos.
Sir Shadow was one of the honorees, along with Pentagram and Joe McMillan, Chairman and CEO of DDG.
Guests were invited to eat sushi artfully placed by Abby Hertz — directly from these models.
Performance artists, such as Muffinhead and Yana Schnitzler, roamed throughout the space, surprising and interacting with guests.
Art meets fashion at the Chashama Gala, with pieces by Primamore + Pollina and Kym Bernazky.
Artists created works live on-site. Pictured are Jean-Loup Msika, Howard Gladstone, Zahra Jlayer, and Michael Alan.
These performance pieces (Jessica Roses and Zachary Reese’s Toilet World, Chee Bravo’s Zygote Garden, and Sarah Nagle’s Chair|Bell|Tape) caught our eye.
Guests were invited to try a new hairstyle, make flower crowns, and get cozy in the Comfort Zone.
