The Affordable Art Fair NYC is back. The global lifestyle brand is thrilled to announce its highly anticipated return to the country’s hub of arts and culture after its one-year hiatus due to the global pandemic. One of the very first art events to hit the town since the city’s shutdown in 2020, the fair has lined up a boutique roster of 35 exhibitors, consisting of more national and local participants than ever before. A thoughtful curation of both new and veteran galleries, artists and partners will set up booths across the first floor of the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea, offering a new, safe and easy-to-navigate layout.
Affordable Art Fair NYC, one of the leading and most popular art fairs in the world, has adapted to the new reality and climate, emphasizing quality over quantity when it comes to browsing and shopping. Exhibitors will showcase a diverse range of original contemporary artworks priced from $100 to $10,000, with more than half the works under $5,000. The fair will open its renowned doors to visitors on the evening of May 19 with its Private View, an exclusive, first look of the fair. Continuing from May 20 through May 23, the art-filled, fun and family-friendly affair will deliver the experience Affordable Art Fair NYC patrons know and love, while maintaining strict compliance with directions provided by the CDC and other leading national, local and state health authorities. Details are shared via the fair’s Safe Fair Policies page.
Of course, as this is a very different year, the fair has been decisive and mindful when it comes to programming. Therefore, this edition, all activities will be offered online in an all-new format, including a Director’s Tour and the fair’s much-loved one-on-one art-buying sessions, “Shopping with a Specialist”. Participating galleries will accommodate those who prefer to navigate the fair from the comfort of their own homes, with an accompanying online exhibition, making their roster of artworks shoppable leading up to– as well as during – fair week.
“As Affordable Art Fair NYC is amongst the very first events to return to NYC, there’s an energy and appetite here, and we look forward to mirroring that excitement by bringing visitors thousands of stunning and affordable artworks looking for loving new homes,” says Vanessa Seis, Director of Affordable Art Fair NYC. “Spring is in the air, hope has arrived, and people are ready to get out and get back to their lives in this resilient city in a safe and meaningful way.” In other exciting news, Affordable Art Fair’s Online Marketplace just launched in USD, providing yet another safe hub for art enthusiasts to explore and shop from home. Buyers can browse a wide selection of original artworks to suit all budgets and styles, and shop thousands of paintings, photography, collages, drawings and prints from both established and emerging artists brought by the brand’s resident galleries.
