The Outsider Art Fair, which is dedicated to Self-Taught Art, Art Brut and Outsider Art, announced the exhibitor list, programming and new venue for its 6th Paris edition. OAF Paris will move to Atelier Richelieu, located in the 2nd Arrondissement, and conveniently an eight minute walk to our favorite bar, Harry’s might we add.
The fair will run from October 18-21, 2018, concurrent with FIAC, and showcase 37 exhibitors representing 18 cities from 10 countries, with 8 first-time galleries.
OAF Paris will welcome several new exhibitors to the fair in 2018, including: Artpool Projects’ presentation of Ghanaian artist Kwame Akoto; Copenhagen Outsider Art Gallery, which will debut work from a selection of Danish ateliers; Galerie Atelier Herenplaats (Rotterdam); Galerie LJ (Paris); Gliacrobati (Turin); Le Moineau Écarlate (Paris); Morrelandmore (Paris), which will exhibit ceramic sculptures by French actress and artist Florence Thomassin; and Tak Gallery (Poznań, Poland), the first Polish gallery dedicated to promoting Polish art brut.
A highlight of the fair will be a project by Lamyland, the brainchild of Michèle Lamy, the spouse of famed fashion designer Rick Owens. Lamyland is the umbrella term for Lamy’s happenings – which includes instillation, performance and urban intervention – aiming to connect art and life. Lamyland functions to catalyze the creation of cultural engagement as a way of inspiring social and urban change.
