Susanne Hofer at Fresh Window

Fresh Window is pleased to present a solo exhibition of the Swiss artist Susanne Hofer. Projections and Things exhibits Hofer’s multi media works throughout the gallery framing everyday mundane moments and thereby challenging our perceptiveness. By displaying these ignored and unnoticed areas of our everyday life Hofer’s keen eye provides a platform to gaze and admire these overlooked situations. The photographed or filmed situations or places serve as the basis for Hofer’s work, she edits, animates or combines them with materials producing installations. In this way she gives life to something lifeless and thereby creates enticing illusory worlds. In Hofer’s work new, supposedly impossible experiences come to light, while she combines the uncanny with joy and laughter through the use of everyday objects.

Susanne Hofer born 1970 in Lucerne. 1995 MA from the Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst, Lucerne. Numerous solo and group exhibitions such as Kunstmuseum Lucerne, Substitut Berlin, Kunstmuseum Langenthal, Helmhaus Zurich, Café Gallery London, ZKM Karlsruhe, Kunstmuseum Thurgau. Susanne Hofer lives and works in Zurich.
