Today in the Meatpacking District, artists Carl Keita and Oluwatosin Adesanya unveiled a new mural for Juneteenth today. Both artists are affiliated with the New York Academy of Art.

The work was commissioned by Alina Lundry, owner of Highline Stages<\/a>, and a board member and longtime supporter of the New York Academy of Art<\/a>. Carl<\/a> is a draughtsman from Cote d\u2019Ivoire and just completed his first year of the graduate MFA program at the Academy. Oluwatosin (Tosin)<\/a> is a Nigerian-American painter and recent graduate of the Academy as of June 2020. She was a recipient of the Mickalene Thomas Scholarship while there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
