Last night, January 29, 2019, the\u00a0Whitney Museum of American Art<\/a>\u00a0hosted its annual Art Party with co-chairs\u00a0Kristen Cole\u00a0of\u00a0Forty Five Ten,\u00a0Jack McCollough\u00a0and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler,\u00a0Natasha Lyonne, Michael Carl, and\u00a0Micaela Erlanger.\u00a0Art Party proceeds benefit the Whitney’s Independent Study Program and other education initiatives. This year\u2019s fete was supported by\u00a0Forty Five Ten<\/a>, a first-time sponsor of the Whitney Art Party.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the dinner, guests enjoyed DJ set by artist\u00a0Andrew Kuo\u00a0and a special performance by five-time Grammy-winning\u00a0John Benitez Trio\u00a0curated by and featuring\u00a0Isaiah Barr of Onyx Collective. Following dinner guests made their\u00a0way downstairs for the Art Party featuring a DJ set by Kittens.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It wouldn’t be a Whitney party if there weren’t a few notables there. Guests included Maddie Ziegler, Jessica Hart, Chelsea Leyland, Chloe Wise, Caitlin Keogh, Andrew Kuo, Lyle Ashton Harris, Juan Olivares, and Wes Gordon.<\/p>\n

Guests also got to enjoy the Whitney\u2019s current exhibitions, which made from some pretty instagrammable moments #whitneyartparty<\/a>.\u00a0On view were:\u00a0Andy Warhol\u2014From A to B and Back Again<\/a>,\u00a0Kevin Beasley: A view of a landscape<\/a>,\u00a0Programmed: Rules, Codes, and Choreographies in Art, 1965-2018<\/a>, and\u00a0Where We Are: Selections from the Whitney\u2019s Collection, 1900-1960<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Art Party is hosted by the\u00a0Whitney Contemporaries<\/a>, a group of young leaders and arts patrons who play an active role in fulfilling the Whitney\u2019s critical mission of supporting American art.<\/em><\/p>\n
