New year, new sponsor? Today, the\u00a0Whitney Museum of American Art<\/a>\u00a0announced the\u00a02019 Whitney Art Party\u00a0co-chairs and first-time sponsor\u00a0Forty Five Ten. The annual fundraising f\u00eate, which will take place on\u00a0Tuesday, January 29th, will be co-chaired by\u00a0Kristen Cole\u00a0of\u00a0Forty Five Ten,\u00a0Jack\u00a0McCollough\u00a0and\u00a0Lazaro\u00a0Hernandez\u00a0of\u00a0Proenza Schouler,\u00a0Michael\u00a0Carl, and\u00a0Micaela\u00a0Erlanger. The event is hosted by the Whitney Contemporaries and welcomes young patrons, emerging artists, and guests from the worlds of art, fashion, business, and entertainment for an evening of cocktails, dancing, and exhibition viewing.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The evening is made possible in part by\u00a0Forty Five Ten<\/a>, which after some Googling, is a Dallas-born multi-brand boutique that “merges fashion and art, inciting the new, the unconventional, the eclectic, and the inspired. The brand presents a strong roster of 400+ experimental and luxury designers including Prada, Celine, Dries Van Noten, Balenciaga, Rosie Assoulin, Sies Marjan, and Proenza Schouler,” and we’re here for it.\u00a0Turns out in March 2019, Forty Five Ten will debut its first New York store in Manhattan\u2019s Hudson Yards, the brand\u2019s second largest store. In support of this year\u2019s Art Party, the Whitney and Forty Five Ten will present a special collaboration with artist Caitlin Keogh.<\/p>\n

The evening kicks off at 7PM with a\u00a0pre-Art Party dinner<\/a>\u00a0hosted by the Whitney\u2019s Artist Council. The Benefit Committee Co-Chairs are\u00a0Lauren Cochran, Derek Fordjour, Peter Kahng, and Caitlin Keogh. The dinner will feature a DJ set by artist\u00a0Andrew Kuo\u00a0and a site-specific performance by\u00a0Onyx Collective.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Following the dinner, the Art Party begins at 9PM on the museum\u2019s ground floor in the Kenneth C. Griffin Hall and Andrea and James Gordon Restaurant at Untitled, and includes DJ sets, cocktails and exhibition viewing. Exhibitions:\u00a0Andy Warhol\u2014From A to B and Back Again<\/a>,\u00a0Kevin Beasley: A view of a landscape<\/a>,\u00a0Programmed: Rules, Codes, and Choreographies in Art, 1965-2018<\/a><\/em>, and\u00a0Where We Are: Selections from the Whitney\u2019s Collection, 1900-1960<\/em><\/a>, will be on view for the duration of the evening.<\/p>\n

The Art Party provides critical support to the renowned\u00a0Independent Study Program<\/a>\u00a0(ISP), one of the country\u2019s leading postgraduate programs in studio art, curatorial and critical studies. The ISP is at the heart of the Whitney\u2019s mission to support living artists throughout their careers.<\/p>\n
