Why? Our <a href=\"http:\/\/artzealous.com\/inside-art-zealous-founders-parrish-art-museum-wedding\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Founder<\/a> is a little (ok a lot) obsessed with KLM&#8217;s Miniatures. If you&#8217;ve ever boarded a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.klm.com\/home\/us\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KLM flight<\/a> and sat in business class, you&#8217;ve received a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.klm.com\/travel\/us_en\/prepare_for_travel\/on_board\/travel_classes\/miniatures.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Delftware miniature<\/a> and they&#8217;ve been doing this since the 1950s.\u00a0The houses are replicas of exceptional buildings in the Netherlands. The number of houses in the collection has corresponded with KLM\u2019s age since 1994.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30612\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30612\" style=\"width: 638px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30612\" src=\"http:\/\/artzealous.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/klmhuisje99injoure-mg-6194-nl-e1539176598234.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"638\" height=\"426\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30612\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"color: #999999;\">Douwe Egberts<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The latest addition to the series this year will be the first store of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.douwe-egberts.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.douwe-egberts.com\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1539092776357000&amp;usg=AFQjCNENLkn7TEG51GSujvnvoPMiGE3E7g\">Douwe Egberts<\/a>\u00a0in Joure, Holland. In addition, KLM will be serving Douwe Egberts\u2019 sustainable UTZ-certified coffee on all its European and intercontinental flights beginning Sunday, October 28.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Of course, there will be a new house in celebration of its 99th anniversary: De Witte Os.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30611\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30611\" style=\"width: 512px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30611\" src=\"http:\/\/artzealous.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/KLM-Delftware-Douwe-Egberts-House-99th-e1539176490403.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"512\" height=\"767\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30611\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"color: #999999;\">De Witte Os<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>De Witte Os is a phenomenon in Frisian Joure. In this shop, grocer Egbert Douwe laid the foundation for the well-known <a href=\"https:\/\/www.douwe-egberts.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Douwe Egberts<\/a> brand of today. But this did not go without a struggle. De Witte Os today serves as a museum that is part of Museum Joure. They restored the historic building to what it once was: a beloved grocery store.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There miniature houses have become desirable collectors&#8217; items and have generated a lively trade amongst passengers.
