Last Friday evening, March 16, 2018,\u00a0The Lincoln Center Young Patrons<\/a> hosted a black-tie Roaring 20s bash inside\u00a0the Weylin<\/a>, the former Bank of Williamsburg and an architectural gem in Brooklyn. Guests were transported back to the Jazz Age and enjoyed cocktails,\u00a0hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction throughout the evening. Sugartone Brass Band, a New Orleans\u2013style second-line band kicked off the night with a booming performance, stepping offstage and playing directly in the crowd.<\/p>\n

DJs Leigh Lezark and Geordon Nicol of The Misshapes got everyone on the dance floor till the wee hours of the night. Other performances included New York City\u2013based artist collective WAFFLE; pianist Isaiah Thompson; dancer and choreographer Preeti Vasudevan; and violinist Filip Pogady.<\/p>\n

A highlight of the evening was performance by actress, and jazz musician Lea DeLaria. Lea took the stage and to everyone’s delight, belted out a few numbers including Puttin On The Ritz and Miss Otis Regrets.<\/p>\n

Lincoln Center Young Patrons connects culturally minded New Yorkers in their 20s and 30s who celebrate, support, and promote the world\u2019s leading performing arts center: Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Funds raised from the Young Patrons Gala support Lincoln Center\u2019s arts education and audience development initiatives.<\/em><\/p>\n
