You might have heard by now that New York Media<\/a> launched \u201cMy New York,\u201d a year-long campaign of special events and activations celebrating the 50th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary of\u00a0New York<\/em>\u00a0magazine. Kicking off the campaign is \u201c50\u00a0New York<\/em>\u00a0Covers: A Public Art Project\u201d which will feature specially-designed\u00a0New York<\/em>\u00a0covers created by 50 renowned artists, all with their own New York story.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The covers will be publicly displayed in a variety of formats from wild postings to street lamp banners scattered throughout New York City. The covers will continue to roll out through October 2018. \u201c50\u00a0New York<\/em>\u00a0Covers: A Public Art Project\u201d culminates with a gallery exhibition of all 50 covers this fall.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The first covers unveiled were created by\u00a0Mel Bochner, John Giorno, Alex Katz, Barbara Kruger, Marilyn Minter, Yoko Ono, Rob Pruitt, and\u00a0Hank Willis Thomas. Additional covers will be unveiled throughout the year including\u00a0Maurizio Cattelan, Kerry James Marshall, Rirkrit Tiravanjia, Will Cotton,\u00a0and\u00a0Nina Chanel Abney.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cFor 50 years,\u00a0no one has\u00a0told New York\u2019s stories\u00a0like\u00a0New York\u00a0<\/em>magazine<\/a>,\u201d said New York Media CEO Pam Wasserstein. \u201cAs we begin our year-long celebration of this milestone, we are excited to\u00a0bring intimate performances,\u00a0surprise appearances,\u00a0headline shows,\u00a0pop-ups,\u00a0and curated public art to residents and all who visit the City.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Check out the covers below!<\/p>\n
