On Friday, August 4, 2017, the Aspen Art Museum<\/a>\u00a0(AAM)\u00a0hosted its 13th annual ArtCrush<\/a> gala, the final event of a 3-day affair that raised $2.8 million to benefit\u00a0the museum’s educational and curatorial programming. A major event sponsored by Sotheby’s<\/a>, ArtCrush attracted over 600 luminaries of the art world this summer and honored artist Lawrence Weiner with the 2017 Aspen Award for Art.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The festivities officially kicked off on Wednesday with WineCrush, a private cocktail and dinner party. Hosted by\u00a0AAM National Council Member and Event Chair Amy Phelan and her husband John, the evening involved live belly dancers and miniature hookahs as part of a Marrakesh-inspired theme. Aspen Art Museum’s Director and Nancy and Bob Magoon CEO Heidi Zuckerman also gave remarks.<\/p>\n
