As Frieze Week breezes in, we poured over the numerous and diverse fairs that are popping up all over New York City. From the unconventional to the commercial, the satellite fairs surrounding Frieze present offerings and opportunities to novice collectors and seasoned pros alike. Here are some of the fairs we’re looking forward to:<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Fridge Art Fair: 50 Shades of Fridge<\/strong><\/p>\n

Eric Ginsburg<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Posting up in two locations in Brooklyn – Branded Saloon, the main venue at 603 Vanderbilt Avenue and Little NU Fridge at 85 Smith Street in the NU Hotel – Fridge Art Fair New York<\/a> has invited participating artists, collectives and galleries to explore the themes of \u201cLove and Torture\u201d as found in politics, romance, and art through their work.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

<\/b>Why You\u2019ll Love It<\/b>: In addition to the titillating subject matter and fun daily events (including Bingo and \u201cRuPaul\u2019s Drag Race\u201d Celebration) visitors are encouraged to dress creatively for candy rewards. Plus, all proceeds from founder Eric Ginsburg\u2019s work will go to BARC (Brooklyn Animal Rescue Collation). Woof!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Collective Design Fair<\/strong><\/p>\n

The LAB at Rockwell Group – Tinsel Town<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

With 28 global galleries and 21 special presentations on the roster, Collective Design<\/a> is packing some heavy-hitters including a celebration of celebrated Swiss designer Mattia Bonetti and a site-specific installation curated by The Noguchi Museum that pairs his works with that of Robert Stadler.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

<\/b>Why You\u2019ll Love It<\/b>: Because everyone loves an instagrammable moment – the entryway of the fair will be an installation by the LAB at Rockwell Group titled \u201cTinsel Town\u201d which will riff on the classic red carpet approach with the Collective\u2019s special shade of blue reflecting off of foil fringe framed walls.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/b>Installations We Can\u2019t Wait to Instagram<\/b>:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A recreation of the legendary Milanese caf\u00e9 Bar Jamaica, by jeweler Pomellato<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>FRACTURED by Dutch designer Stefan Hengst<\/a>, an installation that will transform the fair\u2019s entry with a series of varied, digitally printed works.<\/span><\/p>\n

Superfine! The Fairest Fair<\/strong><\/p>\n

Deming Harriman – Warrior of the Sun-Tiger<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Miami darling\u00a0Superfine! The Fairest Fair<\/a> will be hosting its first-ever New York edition from\u00a0May 4 to 7\u00a0of this year in the Meatpacking District.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

<\/b>Why You\u2019ll Love It:<\/b>\u00a0Geared towards young professionals, the fair has something for everyone \u2013 artwork pricing caps at $10,000 and over 70% of the works on display are priced below $5,000, with each exhibitor featuring at least one work under $1,000. It\u2019s a young collector\u2019s paradise. Superfine! is staying true to its Miami roots in the dynamic NYC space with its signature astroturf backyard and an installation by NYC artist John Dessereau, aptly titled \u201cInclusive City.\u201d There will even be a Young Collector\u2019s Ice Cream Social to kick off the opening.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

SPRING\/BREAK BKLYN IMMERSIVE<\/strong><\/p>\n

After the curator-driven art fair in March during Armory Week, SPRING\/BREAK is journeying forth with a new initiative featuring a dozen artists focusing on site-specific, immersive installations and environments hosted at CityPoint in Downtown Brooklyn.<\/span><\/p>\n
