This was our first year checking out the Clio Art Fair and it did not disappoint. Clio has often been called an “anti-fair,” and it’s not hard to see why. For starters, the entire fair occupies a space that would only hold seven or eight typical art fair booths, tops. Second, Clio isn’t organized into booths. Instead, it has a fairly open floor plan, but don’t expect it to feel sparse and empty. Every conceivable inch of wall and floor space is covered in art made by independent artists who have no exclusive NYC gallery representation. If you’re exhausted from trekking through miles of booths and looking for a breath of fresh air, we highly recommend this small but mighty fair. Oh, and did we mention admission is free? Read on for a list of artists whose work stood out to us at Clio.

1. Gregory Mirzayantz

Instagram: @dimzayan

Floor 5
