{"id":1230,"date":"2015-11-30T14:17:59","date_gmt":"2015-11-30T14:17:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/artzealous.com\/?p=1230"},"modified":"2015-12-01T00:19:53","modified_gmt":"2015-12-01T00:19:53","slug":"aerosyn-lex-mestrovic-to-debut-codices-at-scope-miami-beach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/artzealous.com\/aerosyn-lex-mestrovic-to-debut-codices-at-scope-miami-beach\/","title":{"rendered":"Aerosyn-Lex Mestrovic to debut CODICES at SCOPE Miami Beach"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of its partnership with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scope-art.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SCOPE Art Show<\/a>,\u00a0digital print and design company <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moo.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MOO<\/a>, has collaborated with pioneering artist,\u00a0calligrapher and creative director <a href=\"http:\/\/aerosynlex.com\/PRE_BASEL_ALMS_MMXV.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aerosyn-Lex Mestrovic<\/a>, to create the first ever NFC-enabled installation, debuting this December at Art Basel Miami.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Aerosyn-Lex Mestrovic is an award-winning artist who has collaborated with some of\u00a0the world\u2019s most notable brands and personalities including Dell, KENZO, Nike, Adore, Diesel, CFDA, Public School, Kayne West and Jeff Koons, and his work has been\u00a0exhibited at the MoMA and the White House. His unique style is informed and inspired by abstract forms, calligraphy and technology.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The multi-piece installation will be the culmination of a year-long content series\u00a0entitled \u201cPaper View\u201d, celebrating and showcasing works on and with paper. The work, collectively entitled CODICES, is inspired by\u00a0paper and MOO\u2019s recently launched Paper+ &#8211; technologically breakthrough NFC. The installation will include large-scale sculptural pieces made entirely of paper,\u00a0marking the first time sculpture has been created with NFC technology-enabled\u00a0paper unique to MOO. Visitors to SCOPE Miami Beach will be able to access additional digital content by tapping their smartphones on the installation, or any of\u00a0the unique NFC cards available as part of the exhibit, extending the meaning and the<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Aerosyn-Lex also produced a limited edition paper sculpture kit that takes the notion of form, shape, color and construction to the next level. Available starting December 3rd, 2015, the work, entitled MOO+SCOPE Limited Edition will be retailed at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scope-art.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SCOPE Miami Beach<\/a>\u00a0(booth H19).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Aerosyn-Lex says, &#8220;paper ( and its relational counterpart, ink ) is a living, breathing, organic material with it&#8217;s own properties. With this\u00a0body of work I seek to explore the nature of paper and push it from the background to the foreground. Technology, and its implementation via an arts practice, is also a large part of my work.
