Yoko Ono, whose catalog of artwork is largely interactive and participatory, is at it once again. Ono has issued a Call for Women to contribute to “Arising,” her upcoming work at the Reykjavik Art Museum in Iceland, on view Oct. 7, 2016 to Feb. 5, 2017.

The artist has famously asked audience members to physically cut her clothes off (Cut Piece), walk across her canvas (Painting to Be Stepped On), be photographed demonstrating their love (Time To Tell Your Love) and tie their wishes to a tree (Wish Tree for Washington, DC).

This time, she calls for “women of all ages, from all countries of the world” to send a testimonial about harm that was committed against her because of being a woman. The installation will demonstrate difficulties that women around the world face on a regular basis.

The invitation was written by Ono and released via the Museum’s Facebook page. The full statement reads:

“Women of all ages, from all countries of the world: you are invited to send a testament of harm done to you for being a woman. Write your testament in your own language, in your own words, and write however openly you wish.

You may sign your first name if you wish, but do not give your full name. Send a photograph of your eyes.

The testaments of harm and photographs of your eyes will be exhibited in my installation “Arising,” October 7, 2016 – February 5, 2017 at Reykjavík Art Museum.

I very much hope for your participation.
