The Other Art Fair

The Other Art Fair presented by Saatchi Art at the Brooklyn Expo Center in Greenpoint (steps from the G train) runs from November 9th – 12th. For the second time in Brooklyn, this carefully curated, artist-led fair lets the creators take charge, selling direct to the public without gallerists or dealers. Their work is accessibly priced starting at under $1000.
Naturally, since it’s in Brooklyn the fair will feature a preponderance of local artists including Gaius Cruz, Evan Paul English, Thomas Hammer, Hoong Yang Chang and Eduardo Terranova.Female artists also take the lead at The Other Art Fair – This year more than half (73) of the total 128 participating artists are women. In an industry widely considered ‘pale, male and stale’ – meet the new female stars of the art world. A few to watch: Ilisa Katz Rissman, Karen Inglehart, Keri Oldham and Janelle Turner.
