SUGARCANE by Kamiesha Garbadawala

‘Sugarcane’ is an exploration of life experiences and conveyance of emotion through art by Kamiesha Garbadawala. Turning personal trauma and loss into strength and power through self-examination, she forges impassioned compositions filled with complexity, nuance and gravity. Kamiesha employs paintbrush and palette knives on heavy body acrylic paint to create wide planes of color and broad strokes, the artist’s hand in an uninhibited performance, having found a conduit for expression within opaque layers gently smoothed over negative space. You are cordially invited to RSVP for the Opening Reception to meet the artist, Kamiesha Garbadawala. Her work can be found in private collections around the U.S. Kamiesha was most recently exhibited at SCOPE Miami Beach 2017, and she is currently participating in Columbia University’s Advanced Painting Intensive.
