Northside Report, June 8-9 @ William Vale Hotel (Williamsburg, Brooklyn)

The Intercept, a publication of First Look Media, and BuzzFeed News, present Northside Report, taking place within the larger Northside Innovation festival in Brooklyn on June 7-9, 2017. Happening in the heart of North Williamsburg, Northside Innovation Festival brings together a vibrant community of startup founders, entrepreneurs, journalists, VCs, musicians and artists for keynote talks, panels, master classes, and more. Specifically focusing on the role of the media and the new rules of journalism in 2017, Northside Report’s inaugural event, “You Are Fake News”: Truth, Lies, and Politics in the Age of Trump (June 8-9), will take place at the William Vale Hotel in Williamsburg.

Northside Report’s lineup includes The Intercept’s Glenn Greenwald, BuzzFeed News’ Ben Smith, HuffPost’s Lydia Polgreen, First Look Media’s Anna Holmes, Mayor Bill de Blasio, and Recode Executive Editor Kara Swisher and many more.

As part of the larger Northside Innovation Festival, guests will have access to a panel about the making of the hit podcast Missing Richard Simmons, featuring host and producer Dan Taberski, on June 7, 4PM at the William Vale Hotel. The creators will discuss the process and challenges of producing a serialized documentary that unfolds in real-time.

Guests can also attend an advanced screening of Tali Shemesh and Asaf Sudry’s highly anticipated documentary Death in the Terminal, following the events of a 2015 terrorist attack in Israel, June 9th 3PM at The Wyeth Hotel. Using surveillance footage and cellphone cameras, this riveting film presents a tense, minute-by-minute Rashomon-style account of the series of tragic events that unfolded. Q&A to follow with Page1 President Hugo Lindgren.
