Light Fields at Timothy Yarger Fine Art
Udo Nöger’s artistic practice is based on the synthesis of the painted image and structured light. The expanded character of his work is defined through the following formal characteristics: tableau, space, light and the monochrome.
Nöger’s works mark the space between painting and an object of light. No artificial light source is installed behind the matrix of the work, instead the structure is purely dependent on its surroundings. Where some light installations draw the viewer in with their dominance – Nöger’s works are sensitive, reserved, and refusing of quick interpretation.
