KOI NO YOKAN III at 101/EXHIBIT
Each summer, 101/EXHIBIT presents Koi No Yokan, a group exhibition with a specific curator/focus. This year’s installment — the 3rd annual edition — will be curated by Dexter Wimberly, an independent curator based in New York City.
Koi No Yokan is a Japanese term that has no direct English equivalent. It can be defined as the sense one can have upon first meeting another person that the two of them are going to fall in love. This differs from “love at first sight” as it does not imply that the feeling of love already exists, rather it refers to the knowledge that a future love is inevitable.
