Ken Grimes: Alien Variations

“Alien Variations” presents works from Ken Grimes’s recent exhibitions at the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum in Michigan State University and the deCordova Museum Biennial. It will also be the debut a new body of work that represents an exciting departure (in size and the use of color) for an artist who has otherwise diligently maintained a stark palette of black and white for more than 30 years.
Grimes’s artistic project strives to prompt viewers into thinking about the existence of aliens and the importance of making contact with them, a quest that in some of his works has resulted in fascinating text-only compositions.
