Jessica McCambly “The Invisible Thread of the Marvelous” at the JoAnne Artman Gallery

JoAnne Artman Gallery, Presents: “The Invisible Thread of the Marvelous” Featuring Jessica McCambly.

With the title referencing the prose of artist Alberto Giacometti, the works presented in “The Invisible Thread of the Marvelous” are an investigation of subtlety, sentimentality and the ephemeral. Through a process rooted in precision, repetition and an innovative approach to materials, the work seeks to encourage an intimate experience with beauty and nuance within the language of reductive formalism.

Originally from Massachusetts, Jessica McCambly lives and works in San Diego, CA. She earned an M.F.A. in Painting and Drawing from the University of North Texas, College of Visual Arts and Design. McCambly’s work has been featured in both national and international galleries.

“I am interested in the potential for beauty, emotion and nuance within an aesthetically minimal context. Formal simplicity can evoke complexity and intimacy in experience. I want the work to look like nothing, and then everything,” – Jessica McCambly.

Jessica McCambly’s work will inspire, provoke, engage and mesmerize. With visual perceptions always changing, peek behind the stories told and you’re sure to find the right artistic expression!
