HUMANMAKES: The Imperial Artisans of Modern China

Established in Beijing as a private family archive, Recharge Foundation launches HUMANMAKES program in New York with its inaugural exhibition, HUMANMAKES: The Imperial Artisans of Modern China. It showcases contemporary interpretations of Chinese artisanal styles by 4 artisan practitioners of ancient techniques in Chinese fine arts, design, and jewelry.


Partnering with New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA), the Recharge Foundation will host an artisan dialogue on May 3 from 3–5pm, featuring conversations with artisans in the exhibition.


The exhibition is on view from May 2-May 16, 2019. Open to the public on May 4. Hours are Tuesday–Sunday, 11 am–6 pm. Located at 555 West 25th Street, New York City. Visit for more details.
