Cindy Sherman at Metro Pictures

Cindy Sherman inaugurates Metro Pictures’ newly renovated galleries with stunning new photographs produced in 2016, her first new body of work since 2012. For more than 35 years Sherman’s practice has included concentrated months of solitary studio production, interspersed with long breaks. The method of allowing ideas to evolve and materialize between series, combined with her brilliant insights into the construction of identity and uncanny skills as a photographer, model, makeup artist and stylist, has contributed to Sherman’s longevity as an influential and celebrated artist.
