Caramoor 2019 Summer Gala

To celebrate the arrival of its 2019 summer season, Caramoor Center for Music and Arts presents its annual benefit gala, this year featuring its exceptional orchestra-in-residence, the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, with superstar cellist Alisa Weilerstein as soloist. Led by conductor Peter Oundjian, who was Artistic Director of Caramoor from 1997–2003, they will perform Dvořák’s magnificent Cello Concerto, bookended by Gary Kulesha’s Torque and Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite. At the gala, Caramoor will break ground on the visitor improvement projects scheduled to take place at the end of the summer season. Evening festivities also include a pre-performance cocktail reception and elegant dinner al fresco, premium concert seating in the Venetian Theater for the opening night concert, and an After Dark post-performance party with dancing and desserts. This year’s gala honors Peter and Susan Gottsegen for their ongoing support of Caramoor.
