Blood Equality at the Hammer Museum

Please join us at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, for a Blood Equality public program, co-presented by the Williams Institute, to address this equality issue. The program will be LiveStreamed online so anyone who’s not in LA can participate.

There will be expert speakers and advocates on the panel including Kelsey Louie, CEO of GMHC, Jim Halloran, President of TwitterOpen (last November Twitter canceled their corporate blood drives in the name of LGBT equality), Brad Sears, Executive Director of the Williams Institute and Dr. Jeffrey Klausner, professor of medicine and public health in the UCLA Division of Infectious Diseases and Department of Epidemiology.

The FDA currently has a new public comment period that closes on November 25 to address the issue of blood donation from gay and bisexual men.

A Williams Institute study suggests that fully lifting the blood ban could save up to a million lives annually.
