Artist Talk: Wu Tsang

Join us for an artist lecture by Wu Tsang, presented in partnership with the UCLA Department of Art, School of Art and Architecture.

Wu Tsang is an award-winning filmmaker and multi-disciplinary artist who explores hidden histories and marginalized narratives in works that collapse the blur the boundaries between documentary and fiction.

Her recent solo exhibitions include There is no nonviolent way to look at somebody, Groupius Bau, Berlin, Germany (2019); Diversity is Reality, Copenhagen Contemporary, Copenhagen (2019); and An Atmosphere of Messages, Cabinet Gallery, London (2019). She has been featured in international film festivals and exhibitions in such national museums as the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Hammer Museum, and the New Museum. In 2018, Tsang received the MacArthur Fellowship.

Prior to the lecture, audience members will be able to see the ICA LA’s current exhibitions No Wrong Holes: Thirty Years of Nayland Blake and Sadie Barnette: The New Eagle Creek Saloon.
