ANTONIO LOPEZ: A Photo Cocktail Party

Please join El Museo del Barrio at The Leslie Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art’s satellite space, The Prince Street Project, as we pay homage the legendary 1979 party hosted by Antonio Lopez and his creative partner Juan Ramos.

Originally hosted at New York City’s Robert Freidus Gallery in 1979, guests were invited to pose for a large-format Polaroid camera and install the images directly on the gallery walls to document the ephemeral party experience.

During New York’s Fashion Week, Antonio Lopez: A Photo Cocktail Party will recreate this artistic exercise during the Opening Reception on Friday, September 9th, capturing a new audience at the intersection of art, fashion and nightlife!

The installation will be on view Saturday, September 10 & Sunday, September 11 from 12pm-6pm.
