Geta Brătescu at Hauser & Wirth

This exhibition will be the first New York solo presentation devoted to 91 year-old pioneering artist Geta Brătescu, a forerunner in the field of Romanian Conceptualism. Her diverse oeuvre, which developed in the isolated cultural landscape of Communist Romania.comprises drawing, collage, photography, filmmaking, and performance, exploring themes of identity, gender, and dematerialization.
