Cool Culture’s 2017 UnGala

The Cool Culture UnGala 2017, brings together more than 300 diverse supporters to celebrate and fundraise for Cool Culture and its programs and to acknowledge Teresita Fernandez and Reggie Van Lee for their commitment to social justice, diversity, and arts access. More than a fundraiser, The UnGala celebrates the cultural vitality of NYC through musical performances by Lion Babe, pianist Harold O’ Neal and the sounds of DJ Rich Medina. Puerto Rican artist Miguel Luciano will perform his Pimp My Pirague, the National Double Dutch League will showcase their skills and artist Brian Paupaw will create a live interactive mural. The rest of the evening will include a sit down dinner, silent auction, awards presentations, open bar and more. The UnGala raise crucial funds for Cool Culture programming and celebrate those making an impact in the arts and culture field. Through programming Cool Culture serves over 50,000 low income, diverse NYC families from all 5 boroughs. ABOUT COOL CULTURE: Cool Culture partners with 90 NYC premiere museums and over 400 preschools to ensure that over 50,000 of New York’s most diverse families with preschool-aged children have free and unlimited access to arts and culture as a way to increase literacy and learning, family engagement, and strengthen communities.
