Not even coronavirus could stop the art world from attending the much anticipated “art world prom.” The Art Production Fund celebrated its 10th annual gala, honoring Sarah Hoover and Tom Sachs on Monday, March 9th, 2020.

This year’s gala took place throughout the iconic NYC landmark, The Pool. Guests enjoyed champagne and spirits by Ruinart and hors d’oeuvres in The Grill, with a performance by Mika Tajima featuring ballerina Alexandra Jacob. The mezzanine level of The Grill was transformed into an immersive installation where guests were able to receive manicures with Tom Sachs-designed nail decals and products by Chanel Beauté. Guests also had the unique opportunity to receive a Tom Sachs ID and custom ID holder at the Tom Sachs Space Program Indoctrination & Re-Education Center.

Oh, but it gets better. There was a ball pit featuring the APF logo which was drawn by Tom Sachs, music by The Misshapes, a decadent dinner curated by Sarah (do yourself a favor and zoom in on the annotations featured on the menu), and to top it off, vodka and caviar in the center of the tables. Oh, lest we forget the Ed Ruscha custom napkins that elevated the dining experience.

Emily Ratajkowski led a toast to Sarah Hoover and Brooklyn Museum Director Anne Pasternak toasted to Tom Sachs. Notable attendees included: Amy Astley, Stacey Bendet, David Chang, Wes Gordon, Nicky Hilton, Leigh Lezark, Jenna Lyons, Jenny Mollen, Mia Moretti, Cynthia Rowley, Hank Willis Thomas and more.
